About The Course

Over the past fourteen years, our annual Boys and Girls Homes Golf Tournament has raised over $418,000 to benefit these children. We are proud to announce our 15th Annual Golf Tournament to be held for the first time on the lovely Longleaf Course at Longleaf Golf and Family Club on Monday, October 21, 2019. The event includes an exciting day of golf, a box lunch, raffle, buffet dinner and awards. The Longleaf Course was designed by Dan Maples and was opened in 1988. The course is on historic Midland Road in Southern Pines, on a former horse training estate; many of its original features such as white fences, rail posts and hedgerows have been retained. Its terrific views and challenging play entice golfers of all skill levels. It is also the home of U.S. Kids Golf.

We hope we can count on you to help our children by making a financial contribution or, come play with us! You can be a sponsor and/or team player. Boys and Girls Homes is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit charitable organization. Your contribution helps these children in many, many ways. Just $136.00 provides care for a child for one day (including shelter, food, clothing, education, and counseling). Our tournament goal is to benefit as many children as possible, while providing a great day of enjoyment and camaraderie for golfers at Longleaf.

We welcome the opportunity to answer any questions or provide you with additional information about the tournament or about the Boys and Girls Homes campus in Lake Waccamaw. Boys and Girls Homes, located at beautiful Lake Waccamaw, is a resident and foster care home for children, including children from our Sandhills area. On campus, the children receive a sound
educational experience, spiritual development, and a nurturing atmosphere. This is all provided in a safe environment, free from the stresses and abuse which took them from their traditional but dysfunctional homes.

On behalf of the children at Boys and Girls Homes, we thank you for your help with this worthy cause. More information and a registration form to play golf on October 21 are on this site. Also, pay close attention to the early bird incentive for registering by September 16. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
